Sticky Char Siu Pork Ribs


10 (1.2kg) pork spare ribs

1 cup char siu sauce

1/2 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons Chinese rice wine or dry sherry

2 garlic cloves, crushed

steamed rice if you like


Combine char siu sauce, soy sauce, rice wine and garlic in a jug

Place pork ribs in a flat ceramic dish and coat both sides of the rib well with the marinade.  Pour any left over marinade on the top and marinade overnight (at least 8 hours and turn half way through marinading if you are able to)

Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced

Line a roasting pan with baking paper and insert a wire rack.  Roast the ribs for 40 minutes basting and turning every 10 minutes (or until cooked)

Cut the ribs into thirds and serve on steamed rice of you like
